Outcamp is a project which was initiated in 1999 and awarded by the CCI of Lyon in 2000 as part of the Nova d’Or prize for its innovative nature. It was in 2001 that the project materialised by the launch of the website Outcamp.net. Originally, it was to identify all the campsites in France so as to offer online users a comprehensive campsites offer.

Today, about ten years after its creation, Outcamp has become the market leader for camping in France and is becoming the reference website in Europe. On the strength of more than 4 million visitors per season and exponential traffic (more than 40% annual growth), Outcamp is currently available in 8 languages, and on all media (desktop, tablet, mobile), and lists campsites in 8 European countries.

Outcamp offers two main sections on its website: a very complete multi-thematic directory, allowing online users to perform accurate searches, as well as a search engine for stays aggregating all the web offers.

But Outcamp also offers many other services! The site offers:

- a free platform for small ads for camping equipment,
- lots of tips for campers,
- a selection of sites related to the world of tourist camping,
- a section dedicated to camping and caravanning equipment.
